Because You Care

I would like to thank all of you who participated in the school climate survey earlier this year.  In the coming newsletters, I intend to address some of the questions/comments that surfaced so that communication is transparent.  I have titled this column “Because You Care”.

Technology
Plans are in the works for improving the school’s website so that it will hopefully be easier to navigate.  This was a request that came in on a couple of the surveys.  We have an active technology committee comprised of Mrs. Elchert, a teacher, several parents, and myself.  We would love your participation!  If interested in serving, please contact Mrs. Elchert at jelchert@ourcatholicschool.org

Marketing
Some have asked for brochures that they can share with other parents.  We have brochures available in the school office.  Please come in and get some or send a note and we’ll send some home with your child.  Word of mouth is the best advertisement! We have an annual budgeted amount of $1500.00 for marketing and this year we tried an aggressive program with Welcome Wagon with a significant coupon for people new to the area.  We followed up with a brochure directly mailed to all new homeowners in 56304, 56303, and 56379.  Additionally we sent a direct mailing to all registered parishioners who have students going into PreK, Kindergarten, and Grade 1 who are not currently enrolled.  We do this annually.

Parish Support
In addition to St. Augustine and St. Mary’s Cathedral, we have two other sending parishes:  St. Patrick’s in Duelm and St. Marcus in Clear Lake.  These parishes also provide school subsidy for their parishioners upon parishioner request.
